Juršići, Croatia
Scuola Roveria
Scuola Roveria is a unique historic house located in the village of Juršići, Istria. Originally built in 1876, it was the first school in the region where lessons were taught in Croatian and remained in operation until 1925. Today, it is a private residence that preserves the spirit of the past while offering modern amenities, such as a pool, a spacious courtyard, and comfortable living areas. The courtyard features an antique stone water reservoir, and the terrace provides stunning views of the sunset.
This house is perfect for a family vacation, offering numerous opportunities for an active lifestyle and located in the heart of Istria, making it an excellent base for exploring local attractions.

  • Hedge planting

    To ensure privacy and clearly define the boundaries of the property, a hedge has been planted that harmoniously blends with the landscape.
  • Lawn organization

    The lawn is designed for active use: family picnics, games, and relaxation.
  • Adding seasonal flowers

    Empty spaces have been filled with colorful seasonal flowers, adding vibrancy and visual accents.
  • Pool area design

    Decorative pots with flowering shrubs and exotic cacti have been placed to enhance the area around the loungers.
  • Lavender planting

    Along the edges of the lawn, lavender shrubs have been planted, which not only visually separate the relaxation areas but also enrich the air with their fragrance.
  • Enhancing plant composition

    Fruit trees and herbs have been planted on the property, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the space.
Heki, Pazin, Croatia
Private holiday house
The plot is located near a public building and a sports field on one side, bordered by neighboring plots on two sides and a road on the fourth side. The terrain is leveled and covered with fertile soil, creating favorable conditions for landscaping and further development.

Design description

The landscape design project includes the following zones:

  • Representative zone: Decorated with ornamental elements that emphasize the entrance to the house.
  • Decorative Greenery zone: Plants are selected to harmonize with the chosen Tuscan style.
  • Pool zone: Includes an area for swimming and relaxation by the water.
  • Rest and Relaxation zone: Equipped for comfortable outdoor stays.

Outcome

The project combines functionality, aesthetics, and comfort, creating a harmonious space for relaxation and inspiration. The proposed solutions perfectly fit the initial conditions of the plot, highlighting its natural beauty and fostering an atmosphere of warmth and coziness.
For landscaping, materials and plants suitable for the region's climatic conditions were used. The application of drought-resistant plants reduces garden maintenance costs.
Project objectives:
The objective of the project was to create a harmonious space for relaxation that meets modern aesthetic standards and includes functional zones. The client's primary request was to design the garden in the "Tuscan" style.
  • Parking zone

    Constructed using a gravel embankment and geogrid for base stability.
  • Garden paths

    Constructed from natural stone, harmoniously blending with the overall garden style.
  • Plants

    Key planting elements include Tuscan cypresses, lavender, rhododendrons, stone pines, and olive trees.
  • Terracotta elements

    Pots and terraces emphasize the Tuscan style and allow for seasonal plant changes.
Vinica, Slovenia
Castle Vinica
Vinica Castle is a unique monument of medieval architecture situated in the picturesque landscape of Slovenia. Built in 1082, the castle combines rich history, preserved architecture, and a distinctive atmosphere. The project's aim is to create a contemporary, functional, and aesthetic space around the castle while preserving its historical authenticity.

Project Objectives

The castle's landscaping project includes five main phases:
  1. Complete restoration of the lawn across the entire property.
  2. Planting a laurel hedge.
  3. Greening terraces and common areas of the castle with potted plants.
  4. Creating a network of paths for displaying open-air museum exhibits.
  5. Organizing an authentic glamping zone in a historical style.
Currently, the first phase is completed, while the remaining phases are planned for summer 2025.

Description of the Completed Phase

Lawn Restoration:
  • The grass cover across the castle's territory has been restored.
  • Thorough soil preparation was carried out, including weed removal and surface leveling.
  • Grass species resistant to the local climate were used to ensure the lawn's long-term quality.
PLANNED PHASES
Summer 2025:
  • Planting a hedge

    • The planting of cherry laurel is planned along the castle's perimeter to create natural boundaries and enhance the area's aesthetics.
  • Greening of terraces

    • Placement of decorative potted plants on terraces and in common areas.
    • Selection of plants with an emphasis on historical authenticity and seasonal variability.
  • Creation of pedestrian paths

    • Construction of practical routes for visitors, featuring outdoor museum exhibits along the paths.
  • Organization of glamping

    • The creation of an authentic glamping zone is planned, styled according to the castle's historical era, to provide a unique stay experience.
Pobri, Opatija, Croatia
Villa Dragi
Villa Dragi is located in the peaceful area of Pobri. This modern villa stands out with its perfect blend of natural beauty and contemporary design. A notable feature is the high retaining wall, which stabilizes the soil between different terrain levels and presents a challenge for landscape design. The villa offers a spacious garden, sunbathing areas, and privacy, making it an ideal retreat for relaxation near the Kvarner Bay.

Villa Dragi provides a unique sense of luxury and harmony with nature, with an emphasis on Mediterranean-style decor.

  • Green Harmony: The greening of the retaining wall and decorative hedges harmoniously accentuate the villa's modern style, offering guests a sense of luxury and connection to nature.

  • Mediterranean Aesthetics: The selection of plants and layout creates a distinctive Mediterranean landscape atmosphere, focusing on functionality and visual appeal.

  • Privacy and Openness: Design solutions ensure privacy for owners and guests while providing a sense of spaciousness and freedom.
Villa Dragi is an example of how careful planning and a creative approach to landscape design can create a space that meets functional needs while offering visual delight. We are proud of the result, making this villa a unique holiday destination.
Tasks Assigned:
  • Organize green decor along the entire height of the retaining wall.
  • Create a decorative hedge along the outer boundary of the plot.
  • Greening of the retaining wall

    • Two rows of decorative planters with integrated irrigation and drainage systems were installed, enabling easy and efficient plant maintenance.
    • A total of 250 plants were planted in two layers, creating a Mediterranean green composition.
    • Native plants, such as endemic grasses and ornamental shrubs with continuous flowering, were selected, achieving a rich and harmonious appearance of the wall.
    • The two-tiered planters have become a key visual element of the villa's entrance area, also adorning one of the parking area walls.
  • Creation of a decorative hedge

    • Along the outer boundary of the plot, a hedge was planted using the unique yet attractive choice of Cyperus.
    • This plant, with its lush, umbrella-shaped foliage, creates a sense of privacy and relaxation while ensuring the airiness and aesthetics of a southern Mediterranean garden.
Vinez, Labin, Croatia
Family house with a garden
The plot is located in a village and is surrounded by neighboring properties. The perimeter is enclosed by a concrete wall 1–1.2 m high. Laurel hedges have been planted along the boundary of the property.
The plot features fruit trees and ornamental trees, including walnut, cherry, thuja, lilac, and forsythia. The area is partially shaded by tree canopies and adjacent buildings. The primary ground cover of the plot is lawn grass.

The lawn is generally in satisfactory condition, but moss growth has been observed in some areas. Soil analysis revealed a neutral to slightly acidic reaction, with localized areas of increased acidity.

Design Description

The design preserves and enhances existing elements while introducing new zones:

  • Central Element of the Garden: A family tree surrounded by white flowering shrubs.
  • Orchard: For growing fruits needed for family meals.
  • Rest Area: A space with an ornamental cherry tree that creates a springtime blooming atmosphere.
Outcome

The project implementation combined traditional and contemporary elements, creating a unique space that highlights the plot's history and individuality. Functional zones and the harmonious use of plants ensure comfort for outdoor relaxation and gatherings.

  • Preservation of vegetation

    • Cleaning and treatment of the walnut tree to encourage growth and improve its health.
    • Relocating the forsythia to the front flower bed.
    • Restoring the lawn by removing moss and applying fertilizers.
  • Raised garden beds

    • Organization of space for growing vegetables and herbs.
    • Use of agro-textiles for soil protection and easier maintenance.
  • Plants for flower beds

    • Hosta, hydrangea, echinacea, irises, and other ornamental plants adapted to the local climate.
Mofardini, Croatia
Private villa
A private villa in Mofardini is a unique home situated on an elevation with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The property spans 2,000 m², featuring a large landscaped area that includes a spacious lawn, a terrace, and a relaxation zone.

The villa combines traditional Istrian style with modern amenities, making it an ideal destination for family vacations and a retreat into nature.

This home is perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities, serving as a starting point for exploring the natural and cultural treasures of Istria.

Update and restore the lawn. Add decorative flower beds and greenery elements. Plant an orchard and design a small vegetable garden. Organize a relaxation zone, taking into account the plot's terrain. Create a living hedge to enhance privacy.
